Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A woman in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu is reportedly in critical condition after a doctor at a private hospital mistakenly removed her healthy kidney instead of the damaged one she was admitted for. The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about medical malpractice.

The unfortunate incident occurred at Dhankhar Hospital, owned by Dr Sanjay Dhankhar, where the surgery took place. The 30-year-old woman, identified as Eid Bano from Nua village, had sought treatment for kidney stones, only to have her situation worsen due to the alleged medical error.

According to reports, Dr Dhankhar diagnosed Bano with a damaged right kidney and recommended its immediate removal. Despite the family’s consent, the surgery resulted in the removal of her healthy right kidney instead of the damaged left one, leading to a deterioration in her health.

Following the botched surgery, Bano’s condition worsened, prompting her family to seek further medical assistance in Jaipur. It was during her treatment at Sawai Man Singh Hospital that the shocking truth about the surgery came to light, leaving the family devastated.

Dr Dhankhar, however, refutes the allegations, claiming that he had correctly identified the damaged kidney for removal. Despite his denial, the family has lodged a police complaint, demanding justice for the medical negligence they believe led to Bano’s current state.

In response to the incident, Chief Medical Health Officer Rajkumar Dangi has initiated an investigation, forming a team of doctors to probe the matter. Hospital records have been seized as part of the ongoing inquiry into the alleged malpractice.

Dr Dhankhar’s controversial past has also come to light, with reports revealing his suspension in 2017 following a patient’s death during his tenure at BDK Government Hospital in Jhunjhunu. Subsequent postings have been marred by his failure to join service, raising questions about his professional conduct.

The shocking turn of events has reignited the debate on medical ethics and accountability in the healthcare sector, underscoring the need for stricter regulations to prevent such incidents in the future.
