A woman from Hudsonville, Michigan, has been charged after allegedly commanding her dog to attack a man during a domestic dispute. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday on the 5000 block of Chestnut Court in Hudsonville, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The altercation took place between a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman who were in a relationship and lived together. The woman reportedly instructed her dog to attack the man, resulting in him sustaining multiple bite wounds on both arms.

The man managed to escape through a window and sought help from a neighbour’s house around 1:55 a.m. The neighbour found the man covered in blood and immediately called for medical assistance.

Emergency services arrived on the scene and transported the man to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.

Legal Action and Animal Control Involvement

The woman, identified as Augustina Villarreal, was arraigned on Tuesday on a charge of felonious assault with a dangerous weapon. She is currently held in custody on a $100,000 cash/surety bond.

In a separate development on the same day, Ottawa County Animal Control intervened and seized the dog involved in the attack. The dog will be held pending further investigation into the incident.
