Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A dramatic sequence of events unfolded on the 3600 block of Portage Avenue in Winnipeg yesterday afternoon, resulting in the apprehension of a 30-year-old woman by the Winnipeg Police Service. The incident began at approximately 1:36 p.m. with a series of attempted robberies that left local businesses shaken.

Bank Robbery Attempt

The suspect, identified as Alexis Abby Hunter from Winnipeg, first targeted a local bank in the area. Armed with a knife, she approached a teller who was in the process of serving a customer and demanded money. However, her attempt was thwarted, and she quickly fled the scene on foot before law enforcement arrived.

Retail Store Encounter

Approximately 14 minutes later, officers were alerted to a retail store in the same vicinity where they managed to apprehend Hunter without any resistance. During the arrest, a knife and a pair of stolen runners were discovered on her person and confiscated as evidence.

Violent Salon Incident

Further investigations revealed that after fleeing the bank, Hunter entered a nearby hair salon still wielding the knife. In a bold move, she attempted to steal a cash register from the salon. When confronted by staff, she resorted to violence, trying to stab one of them and pushing her to the ground before fleeing the salon empty-handed. Fortunately, the 44-year-old employee only sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention.

Subsequent Theft at Clothing Store

Undeterred, Hunter then made her way to a nearby clothing retail store where she stole a pair of runners valued at around $100. She swiftly moved on to a fourth business before finally being apprehended by the police.

Legal Consequences

As a result of her alleged involvement in the incidents, Alexis Abby Hunter has been charged with two counts of Robbery and Theft Under $5,000. She is currently in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
