Benton County Crash

A tragic incident occurred over the Memorial Day weekend in Benton County, Missouri, where a man from the Kansas City area lost his life in a fatal crash, as reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The initial analysis by MSHP revealed that while there were no boating crash or drowning fatalities, there were a total of 7 car crash deaths during the holiday weekend.

One of the victims was identified as 89-year-old William F. Gorman from Independence, Missouri. Gorman was riding a 2024 Can-Am Spyder, a three-wheeled motorbike, when the tragic accident occurred.

The collision took place when Gorman attempted to cross U.S. Highway 65 at Balke Road and was struck by an oncoming southbound driver in a GMC Terrain. Despite wearing a helmet, Gorman succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

Fortunately, the other driver involved, a 74-year-old woman, did not sustain any visible injuries in the collision.

This incident marks the 26th fatality crash of the year for the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

In another tragic event, an 18-year-old lost their life in a separate crash near Salem, Missouri, on the same day, according to reports from KY3.
