Taha : “Tragic Death of Youngster on Margalla Hills”

A heartbreaking discovery was made in Margalla Hills as the body of a 15-year-old student, identified as Taha, was found dead in a deep ravine after mysteriously going missing while hiking on Trail 5. The news of Taha’s disappearance had caused distress among his family and authorities, leading to a search operation to locate him.

The young student had ventured out for a hiking excursion with friends, but he failed to return, prompting his mother to file a complaint with the Secretariat police, who registered a kidnapping case against unknown individuals. However, the outcome of the search effort was tragic, as Taha’s body was discovered in a remote area between Pir Sohawa and Bari Imam.

Police sources revealed that Taha’s uncle was able to identify the body, which was found in a deep ditch. Initial investigations suggest that Taha may have accidentally slipped while hiking, leading to a fatal fall into the ravine. At the scene, authorities recovered personal belongings belonging to the student, including a water bottle, mobile phone, and bag. Unfortunately, the mobile phone was switched off, hindering communication with his family.

The challenging terrain of Margalla Hills required a coordinated rescue effort, with teams from the Wildlife Department, Rescue 1122, and Forest Department joining forces with the police. Senior police officers, such as SP City Khan Zeb and ASP Secretariat, were present to supervise the operation and ensure a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Taha’s untimely death.
