Accident – Death – Obituary News : An 81-year-old man from California has been dubbed a “serial slingshot shooter” by authorities after allegedly targeting windows, windshields, and individuals with ball bearings, resulting in his arrest by the Azusa Police Department on May 23, following a search warrant in his neighbourhood. Prince Raymond King was found with ball bearings and a slingshot in his residence during the search, according to the police department.
The investigation into King’s activities was prompted by reports of a “quality of life issue,” as stated in the department’s Facebook post. Over a period of 9-10 years, a significant number of residents fell victim to the actions of the alleged serial slingshot shooter, with no injuries reported as a result, confirmed Azusa police Lt. Jake Bushey in an interview with the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Azusa police have been diligently pursuing leads on the slingshot incidents since their inception several years ago, although a suspect had not been identified until recently, Bushey revealed. The majority of the ball bearings were traced back to King’s backyard, with additional shots originating from a nearby neighbourhood, as discovered by detectives from the Azusa police department.
“We’re not aware of any kind of motive other than just malicious mischief,” stated Bushey, emphasizing that the targets were not chosen at random. The lieutenant expressed uncertainty regarding the selection process for properties or individuals being targeted by King.
