The tragic incident unfolded when authorities received reports of a wrong-way driver on Interstate 25 in the early hours of Sunday morning. Responding to the alert, officers found themselves faced with a horrific scene as the wrong-way vehicle collided head-on with another car.
In a selfless act of kindness, Jose Montalvo, a 64-year-old good Samaritan, rushed to the aid of the crash victims. Tragically, while attempting to assist those in need, Montalvo was struck and killed by another vehicle.
A spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department recounted the heartbreaking sequence of events, stating, “A citizen stopped and exited their vehicle to render aid. While attempting to cross the interstate, they were struck by another vehicle northbound.”
