Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a recent development in the Pune Porsche car accident case, authorities have arrested a peon of Sassoon General Hospital for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹3 lakh on behalf of two senior doctors. The doctors are accused of replacing the blood samples of the juvenile driver involved in the accident with samples from another individual that showed no traces of alcohol. The Pune Police’s Crime Branch recovered the ₹3 lakh cash on Monday, as reported by News18.

Earlier on Monday, the two doctors, identified as Dr Ajay Taware, head of Sassoon General Hospital’s forensic medicine department, and Dr Shrihari Halnor, the chief medical officer, were apprehended by the Pune Police for allegedly tampering with the blood samples. The hospital peon, Atul Ghatkamble, who works under Dr Ajay Taware, was also taken into custody. All three suspects were remanded in police custody until May 30.

The tragic incident occurred when a speeding Porsche, allegedly driven by the juvenile, collided with a motorcycle carrying two young IT professionals in the early hours of May 19 in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune. The police suspect that the 17-year-old driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

Here’s what we know so far about the Pune Porsche crash:

1. Financial transactions in the form of ‘kickbacks’ are suspected to have taken place in the replacement of the original blood sample of the juvenile driver with another person’s sample. The two arrested doctors are facing charges related to this manipulation.

2. Pune Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar revealed at a press conference that the juvenile driver’s blood samples were discarded and substituted with samples from someone else.

3. Dr Ajay Taware, Dr Shrihari Halnor, and Atul Ghatkamble were remanded in police custody until May 30 by the court of judicial magistrate first class AA Pande, despite the prosecution’s request for a longer period of custody.

4. It was alleged that the juvenile’s father, Vishal Agarwal, a realtor, contacted one of the doctors and instructed them to alter the blood samples. The police are keen to investigate who else may have been involved in giving these instructions.

5. Additional sections of the Indian Penal Code have been added to the existing charges against the juvenile in the Porsche crash case, including sections 201, 120-B, 467, 213, and 214.

6. In a separate development, a court permitted the police to take custody of Vishal Agarwal from Yerwada Central Jail in connection with a case of kidnapping and wrongful confinement of his driver. Representatives from Porsche also visited the Yerwada police station to conduct a technical inspection of the luxury car involved in the accident.
