GOODYEAR, AZ (AZFamily) — Tragedy struck on Monday evening in Goodyear as 25-year-old Devin Firth, a resident of the area, lost his life after being struck by a vehicle.
The incident occurred at the intersection of 167th Avenue and Canyon Trails Boulevard, just south of Van Buren, around 6 p.m. Emergency services rushed Firth to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
Authorities from the Goodyear Police Department revealed that the driver, a teenager, stayed at the scene and is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Initial findings suggest that speed may have played a role in the tragic accident.
