Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities in Colorado Springs are reaching out to the public in search of additional individuals who may have been targeted by a man believed to have attempted to sexually assault a child for at least a second time.

The suspect, identified as Deangelo Terry, has a history of alleged incidents involving children. Most recently, on May 16, police responded to a report of a sexual assault on a child in the 300 block of N. Tejon St. The victim reported that the suspect approached them from behind and made inappropriate contact before fleeing the scene.

While a previous mugshot of Terry is available from a 2023 case, its release has been withheld as the suspect’s appearance has likely changed. This precaution aims to prevent any potential victims from being discouraged from coming forward if they do not recognise the suspect based on the old image. Online court records indicate that Terry was convicted on Jan. 11 of indecent exposure, specifically for masturbating in the presence of a child.

Continued Investigation

According to a police news release, the suspect, 24-year-old Deangelo Terry, had previously been arrested for attempted sexual assault on a child in February 2023. On May 24, 2024, detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit apprehended Terry without any resistance. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers are actively seeking additional information.

Authorities are particularly interested in any unreported incidents involving a light-skinned black male, approximately 6′2″ tall, weighing 155 pounds, with shaved hair, dark facial hair, and brown eyes. These incidents may include unwanted advances, exposure, or inappropriate behaviour in and around the downtown area of Colorado Springs.
