A suspect in the double-homicide outside of a Lincoln strip club has been apprehended in Omaha, the Lincoln Police Department announced on Tuesday.

According to authorities, 32-year-old Christopher Johnson is believed to have fatally shot 39-year-old Carlos Silva and 40-year-old Terrell Jones outside The Office Gentlemen’s Club in Lincoln on Saturday. The investigation, which involved reviewing security footage and interviewing witnesses, led investigators to Johnson.

After tracking Johnson to Omaha, law enforcement officers arrested him following a foot pursuit. He is currently being held at the Douglas County Jail on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of using a firearm to commit a felony. Johnson is expected to be extradited back to Lancaster County in the near future.

The Lincoln Police Department expressed gratitude to the Omaha Police Department, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, and the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force for their assistance in apprehending Johnson.

The tragic incident unfolded just before 2 a.m. on Saturday outside the strip club on South Folsom Street and West Prospector Court, where Silva and Jones were found with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, both men succumbed to their injuries, according to LPD.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the shooting occurred following a verbal altercation outside the club. However, authorities believe this to be an isolated incident and have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to safety.
