Cedrick M. Long, a 30-year-old resident of Millbrook, has been taken into custody on charges of Robbery 1st Degree following his arrest on a warrant issued by the Millbrook Police Department.

The incident leading to Long’s arrest unfolded on May 27, 2024, when officers from the Millbrook Police Department responded to a distress call at the 300 Block of Crossings Drive. Upon arrival, officers encountered a 44-year-old female who reported being assaulted by her boyfriend before he fled the scene. Despite their efforts, the officers were unable to locate the suspect in the immediate vicinity. The victim, who sustained minor injuries in the altercation, declined medical attention. Subsequently, a report for Domestic Violence 3rd Degree was filed.

During their response to the domestic violence call, Millbrook police officers came across Cedrick M. Long, a known fugitive with an active arrest warrant for Robbery 1st Degree. The warrant had been issued by Millbrook detectives in connection to an unrelated robbery investigation where Long was identified as the alleged perpetrator. Long was apprehended without resistance, taken to the Millbrook Police Department for processing, and later transferred to the Elmore County Jail. He is currently being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.

As the investigation into Long’s alleged criminal activities continues, limited information can be disclosed at this time. However, it has been revealed that Long may be involved in multiple robberies, with additional victims yet to come forward. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to cooperate with law enforcement.

Long has a documented history of criminal offences, including violent acts with weapons and attempts to evade law enforcement. Detectives are collaborating with the District Attorney’s Office to ensure Long remains in custody until a judge reviews the case. Subsequently, a decision will be made regarding an appropriate bond amount.

It is imperative for victims and witnesses of criminal acts to step forward and assist in the prosecution of the accused. Law enforcement relies on the cooperation of citizens to uphold justice and safeguard the community.

The Millbrook Police Department remains committed to seeking justice for victims of crime and calls upon the public to play an active role in supporting law enforcement efforts.
