A tragic incident unfolded at the Samruddhi Expressway construction site in Maharashtra’s Thane district, resulting in the death of a labourer and injuries to two others. The unfortunate event occurred late at night on Sunday near the Washala bridge in the Kasara area.
About the Incident
According to reports, the labourers, who were working at the construction site, were resting by the roadside when a dumper passed by and accidentally ran over them. The impact of the incident led to the untimely demise of Ashok Jadhav, a 50-year-old labourer. Additionally, his 22-year-old son and a 60-year-old woman sustained injuries in the mishap.
Police Response
Upon receiving the distressing news, the authorities swiftly reached the scene of the accident. The deceased’s body was promptly taken to a government hospital for postmortem examination, while the injured victims were rushed to a local medical facility for urgent medical attention. The police have initiated legal action by filing an FIR against the dumper driver under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicles Act.
