Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Close to the tragic incident in Pune where two IT professionals lost their lives in a Porsche car crash, another reckless stunt has shocked residents of Kalyan in Thane district. A 17-year-old boy was caught on camera driving a BMW car without a license, with a man lying on its bonnet as the car navigated busy streets in Kalyan. The dangerous stunt was recorded on video and quickly went viral on social media.

The man lying on the car bonnet was identified as Subham Mithila and was promptly arrested by the police. In addition to Mithila, the 17-year-old driver and his father, a retired government official who owns the BMW, were also booked by the authorities.

The incident took place on Saturday in the bustling Shivaji Chowk area of Kalyan city. Senior police inspector Suresh Gund revealed that the teenager had been influenced by social media reels and convinced his father to purchase the second-hand BMW car for Rs 5 lakh. Despite not having a driving license, the teenager took to the streets in a dangerous display of recklessness.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of underage driving and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws. It also highlights the influence of social media on young individuals, who may be tempted to emulate dangerous stunts they see online without fully understanding the consequences.

Legal Consequences

Driving without a license is a serious offence that can result in hefty fines, license suspension, and even imprisonment. The teenager and his father are likely to face legal consequences for their actions, which endangered not only their own lives but also the safety of other road users.

Community Response

The shocking video of the BMW stunt has sparked outrage among residents of Kalyan, who are calling for stricter measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Road safety awareness campaigns and stricter enforcement of traffic laws are seen as crucial steps to prevent similar incidents from occurring.

Conclusion

The incident in Kalyan serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of reckless driving and the influence of social media on young individuals. It underscores the importance of responsible driving behaviour and the need for parents to educate their children about the risks associated with dangerous driving practices.
