Subham Mitalia : “Minor Drives BMW, Youth on Bonnet; 2 Booked”

In a disturbing incident in Kalyan, a viral video surfaced showing a minor driving his father’s BMW on a busy road while a youth performed dangerous stunts on the bonnet. The 21-year-old youth, identified as Subham Mitalia, was seen lying on the bonnet as the 17-year-old teenager, who did not have a driving license, manoeuvred the luxury car around the crowded Shivaji Chowk locality in Kalyan West. Passers-by were shocked and some even recorded the reckless stunt on their phones.

The Kalyan police acted swiftly upon seeing the viral video and arrested Subham Mitalia immediately. The teenager and his father, a retired government official, have also been booked for the incident. It was reported by the Times of India that the incident came to light on a Saturday afternoon.

Police Investigation and Legal Action

Authorities revealed that the teenager was influenced by social media content and convinced his father to purchase the second-hand BMW, valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh. The car is registered under the father’s name. Senior Inspector Suresh Gaud of Bazarpeth police station stated that as soon as the video went viral, they were able to locate the car, the youth on the bonnet, and the minor driver.

Connection to Recent Pune Porsche Accident

This shocking incident in Kalyan comes amidst a recent tragic accident in Pune involving a Porsche Taycan Turbo S, which resulted in the deaths of two IT engineers. The luxury car, driven by a 17-year-old from a prominent Pune realtor family, was not registered with the RTO and was reportedly speeding at over 200 kmph. The minor lost control of the vehicle, colliding with a motorcycle and causing the fatalities of Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, who were riding pillion.
