Another 24-year-old youth found dead
Tragedy struck once again as another man lost his life while attempting to seek shelter during the fierce storm caused by Cyclone Remal. The heartbreaking incident took place in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira district on a fateful Sunday evening.
The victim, identified as Shawkot Hossain Morol, aged 65, hailed from Napitkhali village under Gabura union of the upazila. According to Masudul Alam, the chairman of Gabura Union Parishad, Shawkot was on his way to the shelter around 7:30 pm, riding his bicycle. Tragically, he slipped and fell on the road, succumbing to his injuries on the spot.
Local residents expressed suspicions that Shawkot may have suffered a fatal heart attack, as there were no visible injury marks on his body, as shared by the chairman.
Prior to this devastating incident, another 24-year-old youth met a tragic end as he was swept away in a tidal surge caused by Cyclone Remal in Patuakhali’s Kalapara upazila. The young man, identified as Sharif, was en route to a cyclone shelter accompanied by his sister and aunt when the unfortunate event occurred.
