Chennai, 27th May: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded in Tamil Nadu, where a minor girl tragically passed away in her sleep after experiencing a nosebleed. The unfortunate event took place in the early hours of Saturday, 25th May, claiming the life of seven-year-old S Lakshmikumari.
The young girl, a resident of Fairlands, reportedly started bleeding from her nose while she was asleep, leading to her untimely demise. As per reports in the Times of India, the distressing incident occurred at her residence in Salem, Tamil Nadu.
Authorities revealed that on the night preceding the tragic incident, S Lakshmikumari’s mother, S Poojakumari, had served her daughter chapati and brinjal curry for dinner. After consuming her meal, the young girl went to bed. However, an hour later, her mother discovered her bleeding from the nose, prompting her to rush the child to a nearby private hospital.
Upon reaching the hospital, medical professionals advised Poojakumari to transfer her daughter to the Salem government-run Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital (SGMKMCH) for further treatment. Tragically, despite all efforts, S Lakshmikumari was declared dead upon arrival at SGMKMCH around 12.30 am.
D. Gandhimathi, the police inspector of Fairlands, disclosed that the minor girl’s vital organs have been sent for a viscera test to determine if any toxic substances were present in the food she consumed. An investigation has been initiated by the police following the registration of a case in connection with the incident.
This distressing occurrence has left the community in shock and mourning, as the authorities strive to unravel the circumstances surrounding the young girl’s tragic demise. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of S Lakshmikumari during this difficult time.
