A 57-year-old man was assaulted and robbed on a subway train in the Bronx, as reported by the NYPD.

The incident took place on a Tuesday morning, just after 11 a.m., at the East Tremont-West Farms subway station.

According to law enforcement officials, the victim was targeted by an assailant while travelling on a southbound 2 train.

The perpetrator physically attacked the victim, striking him in the face and stealing his belongings before fleeing the scene on foot. The victim received medical attention at the location of the incident.

In a separate incident, the police have successfully identified“>identified the suspect responsible for setting fire to another individual on a subway train in Manhattan.

The suspect, identified as Nile Taylor, aged 49, has been charged with assault and petty theft.

According to authorities, a 23-year-old male passenger was on a 1 train approaching the Houston Street station around 3 p.m. when Taylor threw a flammable substance at him.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition, sustaining injuries to the neck, chest, and arm.

A source within the police department informed FOX 5 NY’s Jessica Formoso that Taylor is a known individual with a criminal history. He was subsequently apprehended by law enforcement.
