A few weeks ago, Hon. Peter Ogwang, the State Minister for Sports and Ngariam County MP, encountered a young boy named Wilson Odeeny collecting scrap on the streets of Katakwi Town Council. Moved by the boy’s plight, Minister Ogwang stopped to speak with Wilson.
Wilson, along with his brothers Robert Alibet and Christopher Omedu, shared their struggles of making ends meet by collecting scrap after being abandoned by their parents. The trio was living with their 82-year-old grandfather, facing a challenging and uncertain future.
Upon hearing their story, Minister Ogwang decided to take action. He met with the children’s grandfather and offered to sponsor all three boys so they could resume their education. This act of kindness brought hope and joy to the deserving children.
