Hamilton authorities have named a suspect wanted in connection with a gun battle that occurred in broad daylight in the city’s east end two weeks ago. The incident took place on May 13 around 5 p.m. in the vicinity of Barton Street East and Kinrade Avenue.

According to police reports, two individuals, believed to be acquaintances, engaged in a shootout with the driver of a Nissan vehicle. The driver, now identified as 25-year-old Malcolm Davis from Hamilton, collided with two other vehicles while attempting to escape. Subsequently, he crashed the Nissan near Gibson Avenue and fled on foot.

Following numerous reports of gunfire, law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene and confirmed the occurrence of a shooting. Evidence of bullets was discovered in nearby buildings, vehicles, garages, and roads. The abandoned Nissan was also located on the same day.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Davis, who faces a total of 10 charges. These include reckless discharge of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm. Hamilton police have classified Davis as armed and dangerous and urge anyone who encounters him to immediately dial 999.
