KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Authorities in east Kansas City, Missouri, responded to a tragic incident early on Memorial Day morning, where a homicide took place in the 2500 block of College Avenue.

Details surrounding the incident are scarce at the moment, with no further information immediately available to the public. This unfortunate event adds to what has already been a deadly Memorial Day weekend in the area.

The somber weekend began on Friday when 36-year-old Kevion D. Bufford was discovered shot to death inside a truck at a car wash near east 31st Street and Van Brunt Boulevard. Authorities suspect that Bufford was shot in close proximity to an exit ramp on Interstate 70.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, around 1:20 a.m., law enforcement responded to another fatal shooting in the Westport District of KCMO. Tragically, one individual lost their life in the incident, while five others sustained injuries.
