Four individuals, including a woman, a man, and two 9-year-old girls, tragically lost their lives in a devastating head-on collision that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Parker County. The fatal crash took place just after 2:15 p.m., less than a mile south of the intersection of FM51 and Friendship Road, according to the Texas DPS report.

Reports indicate that a white 2023 Subaru Legacy was travelling south on FM51 when it suddenly veered into the northbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a black Ford F-150. The reasons behind the Subaru’s sudden lane change remain unclear at this point.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as 29-year-old Kathryn Elizabeth Lain from Boyd, sadly did not survive the crash, according to Texas DPS officials.

Tragically, three occupants of the Ford F-150, namely Gregory Daniel Schilb, 66, and two young 9-year-old girls, also succumbed to their injuries following the collision. The names of the two children have not been released by authorities.

The driver of the Ford truck, Autumn Rae Reed, 42, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital in the Fort Worth area for treatment, as confirmed by the department.

All four individuals travelling in the Ford were residents of Springtown, a city located approximately 25 miles northwest of downtown Fort Worth.

In a heartfelt Facebook post on Monday morning, Springtown ISD Superintendent Shane Strickland revealed that two of the victims were fourth-grade students in the district. The post also mentioned that the injured woman was a teacher at Goshen Creek Elementary School, currently in stable condition but facing a challenging road to recovery.

The post further expressed condolences, stating, “Our hearts ache for the families of those we lost, for our entire district, and for our community as a whole. We are heartbroken to hear about any life that was lost during this tragedy. Life is so precious and way too short.
