Suspect in Braintree and Plymouth stabbings identified
Authorities have named Jared Ravizza, a 26-year-old resident of Chilmark on Martha’s Vineyard, as the suspect in the recent stabbing incidents in Braintree and Plymouth, Massachusetts. According to Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz, Ravizza led law enforcement on a pursuit to the Cape Cod area following the attacks.
Ravizza was apprehended and taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He is now facing charges of assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection with the Plymouth stabbing.
Charges related to the Braintree incident have not yet been announced.
Details of the Braintree stabbing
The Braintree Police Department reported that the stabbing at AMC Braintree 10 occurred around 6 p.m. on Saturday. The suspect entered the movie theater without paying, proceeded to a theater, and allegedly attacked four young girls without warning. He then fled the scene after the assault.
The victims, aged between 9 and 17, were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police reviewed surveillance footage from the theater, which helped them track the suspect’s movements and identify the vehicle he used to escape.
Additional stabbings in Plymouth
In addition to the incident in Braintree, two individuals were stabbed at a McDonald’s in Plymouth about an hour later. The victims, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Massachusetts State Police pursued the suspect’s vehicle after the Plymouth stabbings, leading to a crash in Sandwich and the arrest of the driver.
Possible link to Connecticut death
Connecticut State Police have indicated a potential connection between the suspect and a death investigation in their state. The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, with authorities responding to a disturbance call and discovering a deceased individual at the scene.
The suspect’s identity in the Connecticut case has not been confirmed.
