Accident – Death – Obituary News : The police in Bengaluru have recently made a significant breakthrough in preventing potential serial killings by apprehending a 26-year-old man, Girish M, who is accused of brutally bludgeoning two men to death while they were sleeping on footpaths. These horrific incidents occurred within a span of just seven days, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Girish M, a resident of Vasanthpura in south Bengaluru, has been described as an alcohol addict, shedding light on a possible motive behind the gruesome attacks. The first victim was found on May 13 on K R Road under the Banashankari police jurisdiction, while the second victim was discovered near K R Market on May 19. Both men, aged in their 20s, were killed using a stone as the murder weapon.

The Banashankari police were able to identify Girish through CCTV footage obtained from a camera near K R Road. Further investigation revealed that Girish had a criminal history, including previous involvement in cases of sexual harassment and robbery. After serving a 10-month prison sentence in 2020, Girish had been working odd jobs as a hotel helper and construction labourer before committing these heinous crimes.

During questioning, Girish confessed to the murders of the two victims, one of whom remains unidentified. The victim had distinctive tattoos on his right hand with the letters ‘VB’ and ‘NTR’. It was revealed that this man was killed simply for refusing to give cigarettes to Girish, highlighting the senseless and brutal nature of the crimes.

The second victim, identified as Suresh, 26, from Kaverinagar in Banashankari, was known to Girish. The motive behind Suresh’s murder was reportedly his refusal to lend money to Girish for alcohol. After the killing, Girish also stole Suresh’s mobile phone, adding a chilling layer of callousness to his actions.

A police officer involved in the case expressed concern over Girish’s lack of remorse and disregard for human life, stating that if he had not been apprehended, he may have continued his deadly spree. The officer also revealed some background information about Girish’s family, noting that his father had sold their property in Banashankari and moved to Kerala after separating from Girish’s mother.

The swift action taken by the Bengaluru police in apprehending Girish has undoubtedly prevented further tragedy and brought a sense of justice to the victims and their families. This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of vigilant law enforcement in protecting the community from dangerous individuals like Girish..
