INDIANAPOLIS — A disturbing incident unfolded in Logansport on Sunday, as two juveniles were involved in a shooting at a liquor store on East Market Street. The Logansport Police Department swiftly responded to a report of shots fired at approximately 6:39 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that a round had struck a nearby vehicle, shattering its rear driver’s side window.
Tragically, a juvenile in the back of the vehicle that was targeted sustained minor injuries as a result of the shooting. Thankfully, the injured individual received prompt medical attention at the scene.
Following the incident, investigators diligently interviewed multiple witnesses and successfully identified a suspect. Deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were able to locate the suspect in a vehicle, leading to a subsequent traffic stop. The suspect, identified as a juvenile, was apprehended without any resistance.
The juvenile suspect now faces a series of serious felony charges, including:
- Criminal recklessness with a firearm — Level 5 Felony
- Intimidation with a deadly weapon — Level 5 Felony
- Battery on a juvenile with a deadly weapon — Level 5 Felony
- Pointing a firearm — Level 6 Felony
For the protection of the individual’s identity, the Logansport Police Department has chosen not to disclose the name of the arrestee in their official statement.
