BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Authorities are currently on the lookout for a man involved in a high-speed pursuit on Friday night in Kentucky. The Kentucky State Police have identified the suspect as 28-year-old Anthony Manning from Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

The incident began when troopers were conducting a routine traffic safety checkpoint in Hart County at around 10:09 p.m. Upon spotting a 2015 Mercedes GL3, Manning, along with an unidentified passenger, attempted to evade the checkpoint and fled from the scene.

As the pursuit unfolded, Manning’s vehicle reportedly reached speeds of up to 130 miles per hour, with the driver even turning off his lights in an attempt to evade capture. The chase led troopers onto U.S. 31-E, then onto Kentucky 70, and finally onto Interstate 65 southbound.

Despite efforts to shake off the pursuing officers, Manning was eventually spotted traveling northbound on I-65. However, visual contact was lost, and the pursuit was called off. Later in the night, Butler County Sheriff’s Department deputies located the suspect’s vehicle at a gas station in Morgantown, Kentucky.

Upon being discovered, Manning and his passenger abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The unidentified passenger reportedly brandished a firearm, prompting a Butler County deputy to fire his weapon in response. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the law enforcement officers or the suspects.

Despite an extensive search effort, both Manning and his passenger remain at large. Manning currently has an active warrant for his arrest in connection with the incident and is considered armed and dangerous. The investigation into the case is ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.

This intense pursuit serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by reckless driving and the importance of law enforcement efforts in maintaining public safety on the roads.
