Teenage girl forced to give birth outside CHC after staff refuse admission.

Accident – Death – Obituary News : A teenager who was reportedly a victim of rape gave birth to a stillborn baby in the open at a community health centre (CHC) in Sardhana. The medical staff at the CHC allegedly refused to admit her, prompting outrage and calls for accountability.

District magistrate Deepak Meena has taken action by forming a three-member committee to investigate the incident. The committee includes additional district magistrate (finance) Suryakant Tripathi, additional city magistrate Rashmi Baranwal, and additional chief medical officer Dr Praveen Gautam. They have been given two days to submit their report on the matter.

According to reports, the family of the 14-year-old pregnant rape victim sought help at the CHC early in the morning on Friday. The girl was in severe pain, but the staff at the CHC allegedly refused to admit her. As a result, she gave birth to a stillborn baby in the open, leading to further distress for the family.

The police were informed of the situation, as it was a case of rape pregnancy. The authorities were also concerned about the insensitive behaviour of the CHC staff towards the victim and her family.

SP (rural) Kamlesh Bahdaur revealed that the girl was six months pregnant and that her family had not initially reported the rape incident to the police. The alleged perpetrator, identified as the girl’s 32-year-old neighbour Subhash, was arrested following a complaint from the family. A case of rape and violations of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against him.

It was revealed that the accused had raped the girl nearly eight months ago and had even recorded the assault. He then blackmailed and threatened her, leading to her pregnancy. The family decided to seek medical help when the girl’s condition deteriorated.

Chief medical officer Dr Akhilesh Mohan stated that there were indications that the girl had been given abortion pills, resulting in the delivery of a stillborn baby. He assured that the delivery procedure followed due process, and any negligence would be uncovered in the committee’s investigation.

The foetus has been sent for postmortem examination to determine the cause of death. Additionally, DNA testing will be conducted for further investigation purposes.

This tragic incident has raised concerns about the treatment of rape victims and the need for improved healthcare services for vulnerable individuals. The authorities must ensure that justice is served and that such incidents are prevented in the future..
