Tragic Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of 25-Year-Old Motorcyclist
In a heartbreaking incident that occurred yesterday, a 25-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a fatal accident along the North Coast Road. The deceased has been identified as 52-year-old Randy Thomas from Pork Chop Hill in Maraval.
The unfortunate accident took place at approximately 5:45 pm on Friday evening near the Maracas Look Out. Thomas, who was riding a black Suzuki motorcycle, was travelling on the eastbound lane when his bike suddenly skidded, causing him to veer into the westbound lane. At that moment, a silver Nissan MV200 truck driven by a 59-year-old man from Barataria was occupying the westbound lane.
As a result of the collision, Thomas was thrown from his motorcycle. Emergency services, including the police and paramedics, were immediately contacted, and Thomas was rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical staff, Thomas succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival at the hospital. Cpl Durity is currently conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
This devastating incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while driving or riding on our nation’s roads. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Randy Thomas during this difficult time.
