A 25-year-old woman was rescued following an abduction incident in Bihar’s Vaishali district. The victim, who was reported missing, was traced to Mirzapur village. The accused, identified as Pintu Rai (25) of Mirzapur, was apprehended by a special police team led by Sub-Inspector B. Singh from Naharlagun, with assistance from Bihar Police on May 22.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Mihin Gambo stated that an investigation was initiated after a case was registered under Sections 365 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The case was assigned to SI Singh for further investigation.
Authorities have revealed that the rescue operation was successful due to the collaborative efforts of the police teams from Naharlagun and Bihar. The victim was safely reunited with her family, and the accused is currently in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
SP Gambo commended the swift action taken by the police teams involved in the operation and assured the public that efforts are being made to ensure the safety and security of all residents in the region.
