Arunachal Pradesh’s Naharlagun Police, in collaboration with Bihar Police, successfully apprehended a 25-year-old man for the abduction of a woman who was rescued from Bihar’s Mirzapur village.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Mihin Gambo of Naharlagun provided details of the operation, stating that the accused, identified as Pintu Rai, was apprehended by a special police team on May 22.
Following the registration of a case at Naharlagun PS under Sections 365 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code, a swift investigation was launched under the supervision of Sub-Inspector B P Singh. It was discovered that the victim, a 25-year-old woman, had been tricked into travelling to Bihar under false pretences by the accused.
Utilising a combination of technological and conventional methods, the SP confirmed that the accused was located in Mirzapur, Bihar. Subsequently, he was presented before the judicial magistrate first-class in Hajipur, Bihar, where a three-day transit remand was granted for further legal proceedings at Yupia court.
On May 25, the accused was brought before the judicial magistrate first-class in Yupia and remanded to three-day police custody for further interrogations and inquiries.
Following her rescue, the woman underwent a comprehensive medical examination and was joyfully reunited with her biological mother in a healthy condition.
