The authorities are currently conducting an investigation into a tragic incident that resulted in the untimely death of a 38-year-old bus driver on the Friendship Public Road, East Bank Demerara yesterday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Keyon Harvey, a resident of 254 Grove Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara. The driver of the other bus involved in the collision, along with its passengers who sustained injuries, were promptly taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre for medical treatment before being discharged.
According to reports, the fatal crash took place around 05:40 hours yesterday and involved two minibuses. The first minibus, bearing registration number BVV 1137, was being driven by Harvey. The second minibus, registered as BAC 950, was owned and driven by Paul David, a 52-year-old individual from Lot 45 Public Road, Friendship, East Bank Demerara. The passengers on board the second minibus included Yannick Noel (27), Vishal Goriah (19), and Latoya Thorne (44), all residents of various locations within the same region.
The collision has left the community in shock, as friends and family members mourn the loss of Keyon Harvey. The police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
