Charlottesville police investigate reported sex crime involving a minor
Charlottesville police probe alleged sexual offense with minor.

Authorities in Charlottesville are currently conducting a thorough investigation into a reported sex offense that took place on May 25th at 151 McIntire Park Drive. The incident occurred around 4:39 p.m., near the baseball field at McIntire Park.
According to reports, an adult male allegedly approached a 10-year-old child and engaged in inappropriate contact. The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Jason Park Miller from Albemarle County.
Upon receiving the report, law enforcement officers promptly responded to the scene and detained Miller. Detectives were called in to gather witness statements and conduct a thorough investigation.
Following the investigation, Miller was taken into custody without any resistance. He now faces charges under the following sections of the law:
- 18.2-370: Taking indecent liberties with children (Class 5 Felony)
- 18.2-57: Assault and battery (Class 1 Misdemeanor)
At present, Miller is being held at the Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail as the legal proceedings continue. Thankfully, the victim did not sustain any physical injuries during the incident and is currently with their family.
