The suspect involved in a disturbing stabbing incident at a Plymouth McDonald’s on Saturday evening has been identified as 26-year-old Martha’s Vineyard resident, Jared Ravizza. The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office released a statement on Sunday afternoon confirming Ravizza’s identity and the charges he is facing in connection with the incident.
Ravizza has been charged with assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The incident took place at the Route 3 Park and Ride McDonald’s, where Ravizza allegedly stabbed a 21-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man. Both victims were rushed to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the district attorney’s office, video footage of the incident shows Ravizza stabbing the male employee through the drive-thru window before entering the restaurant to attack the female employee. After the attack, Ravizza fled the scene in a vehicle.
Ravizza was apprehended and is currently receiving medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. He is scheduled to appear in Plymouth District Court to face the charges on Tuesday.
Authorities in Connecticut have also reported a death investigation involving a suspect arrested by Massachusetts State Police on the same day. However, it has not been confirmed whether Ravizza is the suspect linked to the Connecticut death.
Additionally, Ravizza is under investigation for a separate stabbing incident at a movie theater in Braintree, where four girls aged 9 to 17 were stabbed. Massachusetts state police have indicated a potential connection between the two incidents.
The suspect’s vehicle was located on Cape Cod shortly after the McDonald’s stabbing, leading to a crash in Sandwich and Ravizza’s subsequent arrest by Massachusetts State Police.
