Accident – Death – Obituary News : An Augusta teenager was taken into custody on Saturday for a murder charge related to a deadly gunfight that resulted in the death of his friend back in November.

Frashawn Sankoh, 18, accompanied 20-year-old Isaiah McKnight from Hephzibah to Glenn Hills Drive in November. Both individuals were armed and engaged in a shootout with two other individuals. Tragically, McKnight was killed during the exchange of gunfire, authorities revealed.

According to sheriff’s investigators, Sankoh and McKnight were the instigators of the violent confrontation. Another teenager, 19-year-old Rashaun McAllister, was identified as the driver who facilitated their escape from the scene.

It appears that the individual responsible for McKnight’s death was not charged, suggesting that the incident may have been a case of self-defense. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office refrains from commenting on ongoing homicide investigations and does not disclose potential motives for such crimes.

Sankoh was apprehended on Saturday and now faces charges of murder and aggravated assault. McAllister, on the other hand, remains at large and is wanted on the same charges. However, no official wanted poster or photograph of the murder suspect has been released to the public.

At the time of the fatal shooting, McKnight sustained gunshot wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at Wellstar MCG Health. Deputies initially responded to the incident on November 5 at the 3600 block of Goldfinch Drive, where they discovered McKnight. Subsequent investigations revealed that the shooting had actually taken place at the intersection of Claudia Drive and Glenn Hills Drive. It is worth noting that Sankoh resides on Claudia Drive, as indicated by booking records.

Interestingly, Sankoh and McAllister were recently sighted together in Columbia County, where they were identified in connection with a car burglary on Applecross Drive in Martinez. The duo denied any involvement in the break-in when questioned by authorities, as detailed in a report by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office..
