Authorities in Cowley County are currently investigating a wanted suspect on various allegations following an incident at a prominent south-central Kansas beef processing plant.

The incident, which took place on May 14 at Creekstone Farms located at 604 Goff Industrial Park Road in Arkansas City, was reported to law enforcement after employees noticed a suspicious individual on the premises.

According to a recent media release, the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Esphesus Kago from Wichita, was displaying erratic behaviour and appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances.

Upon further investigation, officers found illegal substances in Kago’s possession. Despite his attempts to resist arrest, law enforcement managed to apprehend him and transport him to the Cowley County Jail.

Subsequent inquiries revealed that Kago was the subject of an active warrant issued by the United States Attorney General’s Office for aggravated assault on a postal worker.

Currently, Kago remains in custody facing charges of obstructing a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the aforementioned federal warrant.
