Eligio Reynoso-Hernandez : “Minor Arrested on Gun Charges in Santa Rosa”

(KRON) – The Santa Rosa Police Department apprehended a minor and an adult in Andy’s Unity Park after officers observed suspicious gun-related activities over the weekend.

On Saturday afternoon, Santa Rosa Special Enforcement Team (SET) officers were conducting routine patrols in the park when they spotted several individuals standing near a parked vehicle on the northwest side. The officers witnessed one of the subjects discreetly removing a firearm from his waistband and stashing it inside the car.

Upon detaining the individuals, law enforcement discovered a loaded Poly-80-style handgun with a 33-round extended magazine. The firearm was found to be loaded with a round in the chamber and 29 additional rounds in the magazine. Shockingly, the individual in possession of the gun turned out to be a minor, according to Santa Rosa PD.

The minor was taken into custody and subsequently booked into Juvenile Hall. He faces charges for carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, carrying a concealed weapon, minor in possession of ammunition, minor in possession of a concealed handgun, and minor in possession of a concealed handgun. Additionally, the juvenile had an outstanding warrant from Mendocino County.

One of the suspects, identified as Eligio Reynoso-Hernandez, a Santa Rosa resident, was found to be carrying a knife, which violated the terms of his probation. He was promptly arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility.
