A transgender woman from St. Louis, identified as 23-year-old Darri Moore, was tragically discovered deceased along the banks of the Mississippi River. Family and friends of Moore are raising suspicions about the circumstances surrounding her death, firmly asserting that she would never have taken her own life.
Close childhood friend Izzy Baker expressed, “She valued herself too much to end her own life. She was not alone in this world.”
Moore’s body was found after employees at Tower Rock Stone in St. Genevieve, Missouri, alerted authorities to a grim discovery on May 1. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the cause of death could not be determined by the autopsy.
Despite the lack of conclusive evidence from the autopsy, law enforcement officials have ruled out foul play in Moore’s death.
Investigators are now appealing to the public for any information that may shed light on the circumstances leading up to Moore’s passing, in an effort to prevent the case from going cold.
Baker lamented the lack of closure for Moore’s family, stating, “Her loved ones are left with no answers, no closure. It’s heartbreaking.”
To assist with funeral expenses, a GoFundMe page has been set up. Baker hopes that the fundraiser will not only help with costs but also raise awareness about the dangers faced by transgender individuals.
“Someone out there knows what happened to Darri. We urge them to come forward and provide the truth,” Baker pleaded.

“Darri had a story to tell, and we must ensure that her voice is heard,” Baker affirmed.
