A tragic incident unfolded near Moorband Betta in HD Kote Taluk, Mysuru, where a 48-year-old woman named Chikki from Malada Haadi in N Begur panchayat limits was suspected to have been mauled to death by a tiger on Saturday evening.

The victim was reportedly attacked while she was tending to her goats, with the tiger dragging her body into the dense forest area, leaving her mutilated remains to be discovered early the following morning.

Concerned family members, villagers, and forest personnel initiated a search for the missing woman on Saturday, culminating in the grim discovery of her body near a forest watchtower on Sunday morning.

Authorities from the police and forest department promptly responded to the scene, with the Antarasante police registering a case to investigate the tragic incident further.
