Charles Balocca : “Kansas Police ID 61-Year-Old Homicide Victim”

SHAWNEE COUNTY — Authorities in Shawnee County are currently conducting an investigation into a homicide that occurred recently. The victim has been identified as Charles Balocca, a 61-year-old resident of Topeka, according to a statement from Topeka Police Lt. Ronnie Connell.

Shortly before 11:00 a.m. on Friday, law enforcement officials received a report of an individual who had sustained a gunshot wound in the 100 block of NW U.S. 24 Highway. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders discovered Balocca, who was tragically pronounced dead by medical personnel.

At this time, authorities have not disclosed any information regarding potential suspects or provided additional details about the incident. This marks the sixth homicide investigation in Topeka so far this year, as confirmed by Lt. Connell.
