Man in Custody After Braintree and Plymouth Stabbings in Massachusetts

BRAINTREE, Mass. — A man is currently in custody following a series of stabbing incidents that occurred in Braintree and Plymouth, Massachusetts on Saturday.

According to the Braintree Police Department, the first incident took place around 6 p.m. at the AMC Braintree 10. The suspect entered the movie theatre without paying and proceeded to a theater where he encountered four young girls. Without warning, he allegedly began stabbing them, causing injuries that required hospital treatment. The victims, aged between 9 to 17, are expected to recover from their non-life-threatening injuries.

After the attack, the suspect fled the scene, but police were able to track his movements through surveillance footage from the AMC 10. They identified the suspect leaving the area in a Black SUV, which eventually led to his arrest.

In a separate incident an hour later, two individuals were stabbed at a McDonald’s in Plymouth. The victims, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Massachusetts State Police pursued the suspect’s SUV after the Plymouth incident, resulting in a crash in Sandwich and the subsequent arrest of the driver. The suspect is also linked to a death investigation in Connecticut, although it is yet to be confirmed if the cases are related.

Connecticut State Police responded to a disturbance call on Saturday, where they discovered a deceased individual. The suspect’s identity has not been disclosed at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to establish the motive behind the violent attacks across multiple states.
