A 25-year-old man from Grand Forks sustained non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in an incident on Saturday evening.

The Grand Forks Police reported that the shooting took place shortly after 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of 7th Avenue South. Authorities were called to the Abbott Sports Complex following a report of a male victim who had been shot.

Initial findings from the investigation indicated that a disturbance occurred on the basketball court of the complex, involving two individuals who were acquainted with each other.

During the altercation, the 25-year-old man was shot and subsequently taken to Altru Hospital Emergency Room in a private vehicle for treatment.

Suspect Arrested in Connection with Shooting

A suspect, identified as 24-year-old Allen Little of Grand Forks, was apprehended at the scene. Further inquiry led to Little’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment with extreme indifference.

Although the investigation is ongoing, the Grand Forks Police have reassured the public that there is no immediate threat to safety.
