ORANGE – An altercation that initially began as a verbal disagreement soon escalated into a violent confrontation, resulting in a male individual being stabbed. The incident culminated in the arrest of a woman by the Orange police department earlier this week.
Authorities responded to a disturbance call in the 500 block of Camelia Avenue at approximately 10:50 a.m. on Thursday.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials were informed that a heated exchange had transpired between a man and a woman who shared parental responsibilities for their children, according to Captain Jonathan Baggett.
Subsequently, a physical altercation ensued, during which the woman allegedly used a knife to inflict wounds upon the man.
The woman, identified as Adore Dorsey, aged 32, was taken into custody on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.
The male victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained a non-life-threatening stab wound to his upper body, specifically the shoulder and chest regions.
He was promptly transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance for medical evaluation, as confirmed by Baggett.
