Jaipur: A devastating incident occurred in Ramganj area of Jaipur, where a 28-year-old married woman tragically fell from the 4th floor of her house on Thursday night. The woman, identified as Shivani, succumbed to her injuries on Friday morning, leaving her family in shock and grief.
According to reports, Shivani’s family has lodged a case of murder and dowry harassment against her husband and in-laws. They allege that she was a victim of domestic violence and was thrown from the terrace by her husband while trying to escape a beating. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
Shivani, originally from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, was married to Hansraj Jatav, a resident of Raigaron Ki Kothi area in Ramganj. The couple, who had a 5-year-old son, reportedly had frequent arguments and disagreements.
An officer from the Ramganj police station stated, “On Thursday around 11 pm, the woman fell from the 4th floor of her house. She was immediately rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, she passed away during treatment.”
Shivani’s mother, Phoolwati, has filed a case of dowry harassment, murder, and domestic violence against Shivani’s in-laws and husband. In the FIR, she alleged that her daughter was subjected to continuous harassment over a dowry demand of Rs 2 lakh and was physically abused because the family could not meet the demand. A relative informed her that Shivani was pushed from the 4th floor by her husband.
Following a post-mortem examination conducted on Saturday, Shivani’s body was handed over to her grieving family. The investigating officer mentioned, “We have registered a case and are exploring various angles. While it initially appears to be a suicide, we have not ruled out the possibility of murder.”
This tragic incident sheds light on the prevalence of domestic violence and dowry harassment in society, highlighting the need for stricter laws and enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals.
