Man Arrested for Murdering Friend over Professional Rivalry in Palghar
A 26-year-old man has been taken into custody by the police in Maharashtra’s Palghar district for allegedly killing his friend due to professional rivalry. The victim, identified as Santosh Yadav, was an agent supplying junior artists and worked at a studio in Navi Mumbai.
The grim discovery of Yadav’s body in a highly decomposed state in a nullah prompted a thorough investigation by the authorities. An autopsy revealed that the victim succumbed to head injuries, leading to the registration of a murder case.
During the course of the inquiry, Yadav’s girlfriend disclosed to law enforcement that she had last seen him in the company of two friends who were also involved in the same line of work. This information led the police to focus their attention on Sunny Sunil Singh and Rahul Sohan Pal, with Singh being apprehended on May 14.
The motive behind the brutal murder was traced back to the accused losing a significant contract to the victim, causing them to harbour resentment. Allegedly, the duo lured Yadav for drinks on May 7, taking him to a bridge at Nalla Sopara where they mercilessly bludgeoned him to death with a stone.
