A man from Ohio found himself in hot water after his attempts to evade arrest in Dewittville, New York. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Saturday morning when deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office tried to pull over a vehicle in the Town of Chautauqua. However, the driver, later identified as 23-year-old Samuel Hernandez Garcia from Elyria, Ohio, refused to stop and instead fled the scene. The vehicle was later discovered abandoned and inoperable nearby.

Shortly after, at approximately 8:15 am, deputies received a call about a suspicious individual on Rt 430. Upon arrival, they encountered Hernandez Garcia, who was wanted in Connecticut for 3rd degree assault. When approached by law enforcement, Hernandez Garcia allegedly tried to escape on foot, prompting a chase that ended in his arrest.

As a result of his actions, Hernandez Garcia is now facing a slew of charges, including resisting arrest, failure to comply with police orders, being a fugitive from justice, reckless driving, driving without a valid license, and obstructing governmental administration. He has been taken into custody and is awaiting arraignment at the Chautauqua County Jail.
