Accident – Death – Obituary News :

On the early morning of May 19th, a Woodland police officer conducted a traffic stop in the vicinity of Main and East St. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Remigio Martinez, a 32-year-old resident of Woodland, failed to yield until the area of East and Cross St. Martinez displayed evident signs of intoxication, prompting the officer to initiate a DUI investigation. Subsequently, Martinez was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license. He was then taken into custody and booked at the Yolo County Jail.

Three days later, on May 22nd, a resident reported a suspicious individual on the 1600 block of Campos Avenue. The individual, later identified as Burnell Blindman, a 51-year-old Woodland resident, was found prowling between parked cars. Blindman provided false identification and was apprehended for prowling. It was discovered that Blindman had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody and booked at the Yolo County Jail for the warrants, prowling, and delaying an officer.

Homeless Outreach Street Team Weekly Report

The Homeless Outreach Street Team (HOST) engaged with 44 individuals during the week, offering services to 18 of them, with one individual accepting assistance. Additionally, HOST identified and tagged 16 homeless camps, while cleaning up 17 of them. The team conducted eight patrols in the downtown area throughout the week, aiming to address and assist the homeless population in Woodland.
