WASHINGTON – A tragic incident unfolded in Southeast, D.C. as a young teenager lost his life in a fatal shooting.
The Metropolitan Police Department is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the shooting that took place in the early hours of Saturday, May 25th, at around 12:40 a.m.
Authorities were alerted to the scene on the 1300 block of Congress Street, Southeast following reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of D.C. Fire and EMS, the victim, identified as 19-year-old Naheem Worley from Upper Marlboro, MD, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are appealing to the public for any information that may assist in their investigation into this senseless act of violence.
