Three individuals from Los Angeles have been apprehended for allegedly pilfering a substantial amount of merchandise from various stores in Southern California. The suspects, identified as Miya Angel Grant (19), Dion Damani Ford (20), and Nanyaba Wilson-Tyehhimba (27), were taken into custody following a theft incident at a Target store in Thousand Oaks.
The Ventura County deputies were alerted to a “theft in progress” at the Target located on Teller Road in Thousand Oaks on May 22. Security personnel reported that the suspects were observed placing numerous large items into a shopping tote before making a swift exit from the store. It was later revealed that the trio had also stolen merchandise from another Target location just minutes before the Thousand Oaks incident.
After receiving a description of the perpetrators, investigators spotted the suspects driving on the 101 Freeway shortly after the theft. The authorities conducted a traffic stop and successfully apprehended the suspects. During the arrest, law enforcement officers discovered a significant quantity of stolen items in their possession, including alcohol, cosmetics, over-the-counter medication, and personal hygiene products.
Target employees estimated that the culprits had absconded with approximately $3,500 worth of merchandise from both Target stores. Following their arrest, all three suspects were booked on charges of organized retail theft. They were subsequently released on bail pending an arraignment hearing at the Ventura County Superior Court scheduled for June 6.
