Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A substantial reward of £55,000 is now up for grabs for anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the tragic killing of a soldier from North Texas. The soldier in question, Katia Duenas-Aguilar, a 23-year-old from Mesquite, was found dead on May 18 in a Tennessee home near Fort Campbell. Authorities are treating her death as a homicide.

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the oldest Latino civil rights group in the U.S., initially announced a £25,000 reward for information. However, the amount has now more than doubled after Carmen Aguilar, Duenas-Aguilar’s mother, stepped forward with an additional £30,000 contribution to the fund. The community is being urged to come forward and assist in any way possible.

LULAC National President Domingo Garcia, a former Dallas City Council member, made a plea for individuals with information on Duenas-Aguilar’s death to cooperate with law enforcement. He emphasized the importance of seeking justice for the young soldier who served her country far from home.

Garcia drew parallels to the case of Vanessa Guillén, a 20-year-old soldier from Houston whose tragic death gained national attention. He stressed the commitment of LULAC to ensure that the investigation into Duenas-Aguilar’s killing does not go cold.

Duenas-Aguilar’s body was discovered on May 18 in a Tennessee home. Police responded to an ambulance call in the 900 block of Tiny Town Road, where they found the deceased soldier. She was stationed at Fort Campbell, just 5 miles northwest of the location where she was found.

The Army’s 101st Airborne Division, to which Duenas-Aguilar belonged as a combat aviation brigade member, confirmed her identity. She enlisted in the Army in 2018 and had been stationed at Fort Campbell since 2019.

Garcia reiterated LULAC’s support for Duenas-Aguilar’s family and expressed condolences for their loss. He highlighted the issue of military sexual trauma and urged individuals with information to come forward without fear.

Anyone with information about Duenas-Aguilar’s death is urged to contact Clarksville police detectives at 931-648-0656, ext. 5720. Anonymous tips can also be shared with the Clarksville Montgomery County Crime Stoppers’ Tips Line at 931-645-8477 or online at https://P3tips.com/591.
