The funeral service for Joshua Itseli will be held this morning at 10am at Cunningham’s Funeral Home in Clonsilla, followed by his burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.

Tragically, Mr. Itseli was shot multiple times in Drimnagh following a collision involving two cars on May 6th. The incident has shocked the local community and left many mourning the loss of a young life.

The police, known as Gardaí, made a significant discovery near the crime scene – an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle believed to be the murder weapon. This finding has heightened concerns about the prevalence of firearms in the area and the need for increased security measures.

Furthermore, the aftermath of the shooting revealed a scene of chaos, with a Mercedes Benz and a Volkswagen Golf involved in a collision, and several other vehicles damaged. A silver Ford Focus found nearby has been identified as a vehicle of interest in the ongoing investigation.

As the police continued their investigation, they were alerted to the presence of a potential explosive device in the Knocknarea Court housing estate. This prompted the involvement of the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to ensure the safety of the area.

In response to the tragic events in Drimnagh, Justice Minister Helen McEntee has condemned the shooting, labelling it as “completely unacceptable.” The community is in mourning for the loss of Joshua Itseli and is calling for justice to be served.
